I paid my registration fees on time (to avoid the ridiculous late fees) but didn't get my truck to pass smog until 2 months after that.

I drove around with my head on a swivel hoping not to get pulled over. I did see some tags 2-3 years expired running around so I don't know how hard they look down here.

When I finally passed and got the golden ticket I went back for my tags. I though I would get a lecture (or possibly another fee) but I showed them my certificate and my receipt for the paid registration and they gave me my 2019 sticker and said have a nice day.

Yes, I paid the fee's to. Didn't expect to fail. Never has in the pass. I'd have to look for a receipt.
