dont know much about mechanics and what parts to get need advice

I own a 1961 ford f100 unibody long boon this forum since I know they used the 351wi till 97). It has a 2 barrel carb 351windsor out of a 1975 mercury. I'm still just a teenager so I'm on a budget I like everything about the truck except for how doggish the motor is. If there are any cheap mods such as engine bolt-ons you recommend let me know. I already have a 4 barrel Edelbrock intake

Things I think would do good:
Headers
cam
4 barrel intake plus carb
...

What do you mean by doggish? Are there problems you are trying to fix or do you just want to improve the top end of the engine?

Have you done any maintenance on the truck ie plugs, wires, cap, rotor and fuel filter? Is the timing properly set? How long has it been since the carburetor was rebuilt?

There is nothing wrong with the motor just want to improve its power overall. As you know the 351 is bulletproof I should have worded the post a little differently.

If you're just looking for bolt on mods, the 4 barrel is about as good as you're going to get on a budget without getting into aftermarket TBI type stuff. There's all kinds of products out there that claim to be "bolt on" for older engines, but usually it's not that simple because it requires an electric fuel pump and has a tuner that mounts in the cab. It's still easier than trying to completely computerize an engine but it's never as easy as "bolt on and go" like they advertise.

Just my opinion, but the only thing to be gained with headers is appearance. As long as there are no restrictions in the exhaust, stock will perform just as well as anything.

I'm assuming the distributor has a vacuum advance? That may effect your options on upgrading the cam.
