Hello.I have a 2017 with 62,000 miles and it feels like the brakes are dragging when taking off and also some vibration as well.Vibration is still present at highway speed, but don’t know if it’s the tires.Checked brake temps today after getting off the highway and rears were In the 120’s and front I the 190s.Any ideas what it can be? Thanks.
I've got another question...
My front wheels have a abnormal amount of brake dust on them,I've noticed it since the first week I've had it and thought it was just because it is new and that it would work itself out. Now the truck has 4k on it (1k towing) how long should I wait before I take it in to have it looked at?
I've had both my 2011 and 2015 calipers freeze up and need to be replaced. The slide pin needs to be greased or it will corrode and freeze up the caliper
This happened at 60,000 - 70,000 miles on both of my previous trucks.
Check your calipers and make sure they are moving freely on the slide pin
The way I test bearings is to jack up the vehicle on the frame far enough for the tire to come off of the ground. With your hands at 9 and 3 positions try to move the tire left/right. Do the same at 12 and 6 positions. If there is movement - or especially clunking/metal sounds - then a bearing may be shot. Usually you hear it first while driving. Most often when turning left or right.

The sooner you take it in the better. A dragging brake pad can cause the rotor to overheat and warp.

I have been hearing a clunking when hitting a bump or turning. Will check the bearings today.
I was able to jack up the front a little while ago and look at some things.First thing that I noticed was when spinning the wheels you could hear the brakes slightly dragging and there was a little bit of resistance.Dont know if a little bit of drag is normal. Also how much play is normal in the front end U joints going into each wheel? Mines had a little play on both sides.Passenger side front had a little popping noise when pulling left to right.
Starting to think it’s not the brakes.I’m hearing a growling noise.Today when going up some steep hills loaded the growling noise was more pronounced, so when I started the descent I put the truck in neutral and it coasted just fine with no noise.Put it back in gear and it started all over.
