Bought the old gal about 6 months ago from a co worker for $1500. Third owner, everything has been documented that was changed out by previous owners (which hasn't been much) The I6 purrs and the E4OD is silky smooth. I replaced the ECM on it and have completely went through the brake system, just finished it up today by replacing a proportioning valve on the master cylinder. Have driven it from North East Arkansas to Montgomery Alabama, Nashville, Tenn and Clarksville, Tenn, plus I have been using it as a daily driver about 80 miles round trip to the jobsite. 143K on her and everything is functional, a few little things here and there I have done to it but nothing major. I love this truck!
the truck parked beside it is the beater.
your f150 is aging gracefully. good old truck with tons of life left in her.
I agree. The C10 was owned by Arkansas State University (when I bought it I got the original title from 86) Then it was a farm truck for who knows how many years and really abused/neglected. I bought it about 4 yrs ago for $800 and drove it out to the steel mills here in north east arkansas 130 mile round trip for 3.5 years. Really racked up the miles on it and the V-6 engine finally blew the head gasket . I parked it about 6 months ago. Fixin to have it hauled off for scrap. She wasn't much to look at but I ran it til she died. Have no interest in trying to fix it. I bought it and drove it while I looked for the right Ford truck for me and a co worker owned this truck for about 8 yrs, I had ridden in it once and he rarely drove it. We are both Commercial/Industrial electricians and wound up on a job together and I asked about the truck and he said he was thinking about selling it and I told him to name his price. He told me. I went to the bank that night and then to his house and drove her home.

I wouldn't just scrap it. Square body Chevys are popular. There might be somebody interested in buying it as a project vehicle
I may do that. Engine ran great, that 262 with a carb moved the truck pretty good. TH350 transmission is still strong in it.. She was just neglected for about 20 years as a farm truck and just beat on. Kinda like the old gal but just do not have the time to whip her back into shape. Hands down I'd still take a Ford truck over Chevy any day. My first truck at 16 was a F250, Guy I bought it from gave me a price break on that truck as it was my first. Still miss it.
