Welcome to November. Lots of rain here.

 

Well so it begins boys. Keep them fires burning and snow shovels working lol. Looks like up to a foot of the white stuff coming in today in some places of Maine.

 

My Grandson is leaving MD for there tomorrow...got him a job at Sunday River ski resort for the season..... you guys take good care of him for me....He doesn't do computers much, so you'll prob never see him on-line but if you wander over to Sunday River, say Hello for me. His name is Charlie Pytko and will be working at setting up for the ski events .

 

OK Maine, my Grandson made it up just fine...now please look after him for me ! He actually starts work at the Resort Friday so will be skiing and running around checking everything out. Problem is it ain't a Ford he's running around in...it a white Dodge SUV.

 

My brother has been over there once so far and Sugarloaf the other time. He doesn't talk to dodge people though.

 

Well, if he sees Charlie, it'll be on the slopes so he won't know WHAT he drives. He'll be one of the guys that are keeping the slopes safe !

 

He's in one the best and safest places in America. Very cold and miserable now......... but safe lol.

 

He sent some photos to us...not a lot of snow up on the mountain yet..... what was there looked like they MADE it.

 

Yeah we generally don't get much in December.Most Christmastimes are not white here.The first quarter of every year though..oh boy lol.There wont be much shortage soon.

 

Whatever they are doing up there, it sure looks like it's working.... Charlie is having a blast on the mountains fer sure! He learning that it takes a LOT of stamina to keep a ski resort running ! As tough as it is, he still says he loves it ! It sure ain't cheap to ski ! Looked at the rates this morning...WOW !

 

You know,I've never been skiing? I've never tried it.Odd uh? I dunno why,I guess I like my legs and ankles unbroken lol. I like to snow shoe.I went out the other day,now it warmed up to record breaking temps,rained and washed all the snow away.Good old climate change. I've often thought about getting a pair of skis for cross country though.I bet I'd like that but I enjoy the extra exercise from the snow shoes and don't want to get too lazy lol.

Charlie's good times on the mountain came crashing down last week when he did a few barrel rolls and crashed into a snow bank. Wrenched his shoulder so bad that thought he broke it but Doc said it was a very bad sprain and dislocation. They have that arm all wrapped up and immobilized. So he's on light duty for ? long. And he didn't even have ski's on ! The veterans up there showed him how to "ski" with just boots on.... guess he didn't quite "get it" !
