3V 6.8 2005+ Motor Mounts HELP

So I am about to have a set of JBA headers and bolts installed along with full new exhaust. The shop doing this has plenty of experience with these manifold studs and walked me through the process they take...spot on to what I've read here so I feel confident letting them do the work for me.

They will take both engine mounts loose and lift a few inches to install. I thought this would be a good time to replace motor mounts since truck is 13 years old and they tend to soften up over time. I’ve heard of others having headers rub the frame on the passenger side if they’ve collapsed too much due to age. I don't KNOW this will be my case, but I figured while they are loose, might as well replace them. JBA tech told me on the phone yesterday they are aware of this fit issue and know the Ford motor mounts tend to be softer with age and cause the fit issue.

Problem is is I can’t find them ANYWHERE. Has anyone replaced motor mounts on an ‘05+ F250 V10? Anyone have any experience with the JBA headers and any interference issues?

Did you try a Ford parts department?

Yes, but the only have the driver side and no ETA on passenger. I found the part numbers the dealer gave me New on EBay, but these are the rigid mounts, not the rubber bushing portion I believe to be the problem child. I don’t know. I wish someone with experience in a 3V 2005+ V10 with headers would chime in!

Do you know any member to direct me to?

Actually, no. I don't know of anyone here that I remember putting headers on a 3-valve. The stock manifolds are very "header like" to begin with.

I have two broken studs, but no detectable manifold leaks (yet). That being the case, should I just reuse the stock manifolds and replace studs with stainless bolts? Or should I try to have the headers installed? The headers are already on the way. I guess I could just have the shop try and install them and if there's any fit-up issue, just use existing manifolds. What do you think?

If I had headers on-hand, I'd put them in

What year exactly is the truck?

Are these not the part? This is for a 2005 F350 4WD 6.8L. Not sure if there's a difference in mounts for 2WD or not.

Mine is 4WD. I think these are the right parts, but passenger assembly is backordered. Same thing both dealers I've spoken with have told me.

Might just be out of luck if they're backordered. Could try aftermarket maybe.

I'll know more in a couple of days. I have the JBA headers mounted to my engine and will be dropping in back into the pickup by maybe tonight, but more than likely in a couple of days. I'll let you know about any clearance problems that I encounter.

I finally got my engine dropped into my 2005 F-250 and there was not any interference with the passenger side header and the frame. I was also super pleased with how well the stock exhaust matched up to the JBA headers. There is a heat shield on a motor mount that will need to be removed. Just two rivets to drill out.

Awesome to hear! Thanks for the follow up. Have you driven it yet with the new headers installed?

Haven't driven it yet, will hopefully start it tonight. I'll be pulling a horse trailer with it next weekend, so I should have an idea if there was any benefit or not after that.

How about now? Any feedback after driving?

My headers go on in the morning!
