2002 F-250 7.3 flasher relay/module

Flasher relay/module

Here's a strange one! Just before getting out of my truck tonight, after pulling my keys out of the ignition, I could hear a noise like my emergency flashers were on, but nothing was flashing. I reached under the dash, knowing right where it was because I changed it to a LED compatible one about 6-8 months ago when I went to all LED conversion. Yep, that's what it was, but couldn't get it to stop so I had to pull the fuse to get it to stop. I'm gonna get a new relay in the morning (less than a year old) and was just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and/or if getting a new one doesn't work, if anyone has a suggestion. Thank You!.........Replaced the flasher relay and it is still making noise!!! Anybody know what the problem could be??? Thanks again

That almost sounds like when my batteries are going out... like one is low and the other is fighting to keep everything going. Just for *****s n giggles, disconnect the driver's side and check voltage on both.

Thank you BillyBob69.
Batteries are good. After spending a few hours chasing connectors in the steering column and in the dash it decided to just stop after I went in the house for about forty five minutes.....No more clicking, no more problem........right? LOL..............IT"S BACK!!!!!!!!!!! Won't stop this time, started again last night and went out this morning and was still clicking, luckily batteries hadn't discharged......yet! Talked to a local auto electrical shop and they said if the relay is good then it is a module that will have to be replaced and reprogramed by the dealer only........gonna see what I can find out and try to do myself over the weekend. Thanks again Sir!

Check any and all connections from the batteries out. I had a no start issue where sometimes it would click and other times it would do nothing.. Turned out corrosion on the terminals to my solenoid was the cause. Replaced starter & batteries... nothing. Finally went to change the solenoid and saw the buildup of corrosion. Cleaned it all off and haven't had an issue since...that was about 1 1/2 yrs ago.

Checked all of my connection from my mirror install and others again, seems like everything is ok. Did have my batteries disconnected over night and of course it stopped again. After not clicking for about a month it started again. Not driving it much lately, so still pulling the fuse. I'm really dreading the thought of having to possibly take it to the dealer, but gonna try a couple of other things before I cut my throat with having to do that!

Pull the cover to the steering column and check the wires from the gear selector stalk going along the top of the column. There is a known issue, especially with tilt wheel, the wires rub thru and short out on the metal framing of the column right at the top under the top cover. I know it controls the OD Off button but you can also check the wiring from the Emergency flasher button as well
The fix is to add about 3 inches of wire to the harness. I believe 4 wires.
