I recently bought an 85 Bronco II with the 2.8 engine. It started overheating so I changed the water pump and am ready to put the thermostat in. The previous one was in the upper housing but Chiltons says it goes in the lower housing. However, Chilton's picture shows it being placed in the upper. I'm confused. Where does the thermostat go - upper or lower ??
