Hi all,

My 2018 Flex AWD Limited did NOT come with the factory tow package, and I added a receiver myself. While reversing with the trailer, the reverse and side proximity alarms are constantly going off. Is there a factory towing or trailer mode that can be added to the car via FORScan that would disable these features?

You should have a way off turning it off. It is usually in the display on the dashboard, but takes some searching to find it. You'll have to scroll through the displays with the steering wheel buttons to find it.

 

Yup, there it is. When you put it in reverse the option pops up right there in the menu, but I'm not looking there, I'm reversing! I'm old enough that by the time I move the gear selector into reverse, my head is already twisted around looking for things to run over. You can turn it off, but it's only for that instance when you're driving the car. If you restart the car, the alarms go back on. I don't think there's a menu accessible means of turning it off long term. Which is good, cause the wife likes it/
