Clutch pedal/action broken

Don't jump the safety switch. You will lose cruise control. Yes, it slides back and forth on there. If it were me, and I have done it about 4 times now, get the prebled master assembly from LUK. It's 100 bucks and keeps the pedal feeling like a car. once you crawl under there and see how it sits, you'll see it's pretty easy to replace. It's plug and play for the most part. It will also come with a new rod. The most difficult part is getting the new MC snapped into the firewall just because of the small space and getting your hands in there to do the job.

Byron, do you happen to have the part number for the LUK?
Does it come with a new slave cylinder as well or just the master?
I NEED cruise control, I cannot drive long distance without it.
The directions from Timmy above mentioned that the pieces would break off during the first pedal push, is he referring to the plastic covering the slave cylinder rod?

Here is the link on Rockauto. The price has gone down! Look at the end where it goes into the transmission. Those are the tabs that break off at first depress of the clutch. Do not break those off before. They are what keep it "compressed" until it is installed.

Let me know if I can help further!

The part I am confused about is the plastic cover on the slave that you guys say to not remove and that will break with the first pedal push. Does the plastic just stay in the transmission case, or does it pop out and is removed at that point somehow?
The picture from Wesley below is what I'm talking about, and I think you are talking about as well. The plastic staying in the case just does not seem right to me, but maybe I am wrong since I am not an engineer.

Well, not sure what to say about the design, but thanks for clearing the question with a picture. I would have bet you a 6 pack that the plastic piece came off first.
We are going to swap the part out once we get home. I will just have to bring my leg up really high in order to push on the pedal. The action of the pedal has not affected the engagement of the clutch, thankfully.
