New to me 2014 F-450, chip and Sync questions
My beloved 2002 7.3 F-250 was totaled in May when someone hit me from behind. I finally gave up my search for a suitable 7.3 and bought a 2014 F-450 King Ranch today. It's a really nice truck but, truth be told, I'd really rather have my 7.3 still running.
Anyway, the previous owner already did the delete but, there was no programmer with the truck. Since the delete has already been done, they had to do some sort of programming, is it possible to determine what they used to do it or will any programmer work with this?
Also, I have the Sync 3.0 and can't find any way to download and install an update, is it possible to update the software or is the 2013 version of the software on the system the most recent version available?

Nice looking truck
As for the tune there is no way to find out what tune is in your truck. Not only that you cant return the truck to stock unless you go to the dealer and have them upload a stock tune. This is the reason I wouldn't buy a deleted truck. You never know what was done.
Did you buy it from a privet party and why didn't he have the tuner.
I still like the truck hope you got a good deal.

I got it from a dealer that specializes in diesel vehicles, they probably got it at an auction and someone most likely removed the tuner somewhere along the way, along with the owner's manual, something I've never understood. I would imagine I can just get a tuners from anyone that does off-road and race tunes for deleted trucks, right? What's the most liked tuner? I had PHP on my 7.3 and really liked those so I'll ask them first, I'm not looking to get more gains, I'd just like to know what it's tuned to and to clear up some smoke at initial acceleration that the current tune is causing.
I paid $39,700 out the door, I think I did OK on it. It's got 160,000 miles on it but, it's in great condition cosmetically and I found no codes or code history on it when I scanned it.

I've also heard good things about Tyrant tunes and have them installed on an SCT X4 which is in my desk drawer waiting for me to find the time to do the delete. I bought my tuner, tunes and block off plates as a package from No Limit Fab and saved a decent amount of money vs buying separate.

Sync3 radios are totally different in appearance than the Sync2 units. You can go to 4DTech to see what a Sync3 looks like. Sync3 was installed in 2017 and newer Super Duty trucks. Sync2 was installed in 2011-2016 trucks.
