What can u tell me about this engine tag thanks

That it's a 390 built in 1971? And maybe in April?

Someone will come along and either confirm or deny that

My guess is july of 71. But what dose the 307 an ko and the k mean?

A check of the date codes on the block and heads will confirm it. Usually if that tag is still there means you've got an unrebuilt engine on your hands.

The engine code is KO 307 which decodes as light truck 390ci 2 barrel engine. The K is the change level for that engine assembly.
