Smaller belt 4 rerouting belt on bad pollution motor
1997
Ford F 350
5.8
Pollution motor / pulley NG . Loud noise , making me crazy
Replaced tensioner & new belt . Finally discovered noise was from pollution pulley unit
On this forum there is a list of belt numbers too use saving trips too box store. I use Auto Zone . Purchased belt and totally wrong . Not even close
removed pulley from pollution assembly
After many visits ( poor guys from auto zone ) I narrowed down too 6 spine, 94.5 . Still not good . Auto zone has no other sizes in between ,
not tight, belt wiggles , hot too touch
94 inch I cant get under idler pulley
I am about too reinstall pollution pulley with belt until I find another option
Any ideas .

the air pump is probably locked up. if you put the other belt on its going to fail at some point. i just went through this 6 mos ago and listed a 94 inch belt iirc. its hard to get on but it can be done. might take a second set of hands. get it on all the pulleys except the upper idler and make that the last one. you can get a idler pulley assembly to replace the air pump and then everything is the same as factory.
