81 Bronco (new to me) - issues
Hi everyone - to spare the doublepost, my intro thread is here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...o-project.html
Long story short, I picked up an 81 Bronco (XLT) project for beans & having never really done anything more than basic maintenance on my cars, I'm gonna be bugging everyone here for help. A LOT.
Specifically, if anyone's replaced lock hardware for the doors (& ignition?) that'd be a great place to start, along with a new crank & assembly for the passenger window.
I can hear what sounds like the motor trying to work for the rear window, but the glass doesn't move, so maybe it's just off the track. It's also scratched to hell, but the biggest problem is obviously the fact that the glass is stuck about 3" from the top. Not ideal. I haven't taken the tailgate apart yet to have a look, but if you guys have good recommendations about where to find parts (currently perusing Summit, Jegs & APW in other tabs), things to watch out for, or tips/tricks when going through, it would be greatly appreciated. I know there's plenty of discussions on the back glass - that seems to be an unfortunately common problem area - but haven't seen a comprehensive tear-down. Also...there's no keyhole/cylinder in the tailgate...only opens from ze inside.
There's basically 1/2 exhaust on it right now - terminates under the driver with no muffler. It sounds great, but the fumes are a bit much. Any recos for a decent exhaust? Willing to do a full exhaust as long as it's easy & doesn't break the bank...
It's a mess, but I'm really stoked for the future.
