2019 Regular Cab vrs 2018 Crew Cab
Need your option.
Not sure what is the best way to go. I know that I need to be happy with the truck but I am looking at what is the best from a money point and a daily driver. I do not tow except for a 5x7 landscaping trailer under 2000 lbs.
I ordered a 2019 but the Dealer has a 2018 siting on the lot that I also like.
The 2019 is a Regular 6.2 long bed with the following:
WHITE, Gray Cloth Seats, Tail Gate Steps, Wheel Liners (Front and Rear), XLT Value Package, Extra Extra Heavy Duty Alternator, LED Clearance Lights, LED Box Lighting, Rear Window - Defrost with Fixed and Privacy Glass, Upfitter Switches, Running Boards, Remote Start, Skid Plates, Carpet Delete, Power Mirrors, Spray Bed Liner, Hood Deflector, Snow Prep / Camper package, Bed Tailgate Lowering Control
The 2018 is a Crew Cab 6.2 with a short bed:
Ruby Red, 18 inch tires, 3.73 locking axle, XLT Package, FX4, Chrome Tube Step Bar, Navigation system, Snow Plow Package, BLIS (Blind spot Info System), Upfitter switches, Remote Start, Tailgate Steps, Cloth 40/Console/40 seat, Sync3
What one would you purchase if both were priced the same?

If they are priced the same, the 2018 seems to be equipped with more popular options, and the crew cab will always be significantly more valuable on resale (if that is important to you). Unless you need a regular cab for space reasons or must have the long bed, I don't see much downside to buying the crew.

I don't have a topper on this truck so having a crew cab gives me a place to throw camping gear that I don't want to get wet or that I want to be more secure than just sitting in the bed. I do carry a few people with me when I go camping. The crew cab is more comfortable than the extra cab or whatever it's called.

Your question is the same as “What is your favorite color?” Or “What is your favorite food?” Everybody is different and only you can decide what you want. If you want “ The best for the money” I am wondering why you are looking at a F-250 just to pull such a small trailer. For the money a F150 would be just fine. Now on the other hand you want a F-250 just because you want one then more power to you. Your money, your decision....
PS-I owned my own nursery business for 42 years and had 8 F-150’s. I only bought my F-250 this year as I am retired and pull a very large tractor with shredder to local churches where I mow larger parcels of land for them as a free donation.

Personally, I'd ignore the 1 year model year difference and ask yourself which truck you'd rather have. I'd go with the 2018 all day long, but that's because I don't like regular cab pickups.

But he's not asking about color. He's asking about major features: regular cab vs super cab, short bed vs long bed, limited options vs more options. While there is obviously some subjective opinion to be had, comparing a RCLB with a SCSB is more objective. Resale value is a big point, as is hauling & towing capacities.

Do you have a family or kids to haul around? If not, a CC is a lot of wasted space and added length to have to deal with IMO.

Buy the 2019 Regular cab , you ordered it so you liked it . If you wanted a crew cab there everywhere and you could have bought one before you ordered the regular cab so you already made your choice when you ordered the regular cab. What changed ? You’ve seen a 1000 crew cabs before and you still ordered the regular cab.
