MAYBE looking into this truck as a pickup. i know its Propane(not sure i like that) so i assume its a gas engine. not sure what the tranny or rear gears are. what kind of MPG can i expect if i make it gas again???VIN plate is in the pics hope this will help. i am not expecting 20 MPG but really dont want to see 3 or 4 either

30000 gvwr trips cdl making another nuisance for you. Suspension will be rock solid. 370 or 429. Single digit mpg. Can't decode the plate. Looks like it has a 2 speed rear axle as there is a wire running down the shifter. That would make sense in a truck like that. Propane--if you don't like that, maybe move on regardless of the other merits. Not so easy to convert, and propane is best for local fleets where you know where and when you will refuel.

Gvwr is on the title and registration. You would have to deal with the DMV on derating the truck. Motor parts easy. Brakes could be Lucas Girling hydraulic. Good but expensive and known to be needy in older rigs. Or air brakes.

6-8 mpg at best, you can pull all of the propane off, install a gas carb, fuel pump and gas tank, but if the engine is set up for a 2 barrel carb their no longer available so your looking at additional cost to do a manifold swap and 4 barrel carb.
Truck has Lucas Girling hydraulic brakes, if they give problems it'll cost to repair them.
If your wanting to make a pickup out of one of these trucks find one with a diesel engine and get away from these gas suckers.

I get 5 mpg hauling rock at max gross with my 429. Firewood is the lightest load I haul, I might eek out 7 mpg if I am lucky.
