Ouch!!!! That's not a little scratch either. What happened?....If it is something you don't want to admit, just make up a good story.

That happened to my panel 3 weeks after I painted it when the garage door smacked into the side of it when the wind knocked the brace and blew the door into the side of it..now that you have to repaint that it's no biggy to fix the third brake light hole...

you're close John... but 180 out of phase... I was taking the drawer frame out of the cab and I'm limited on door opening space and was wrestling it around the wiring on the cab floor. I'm old with bad shoulders and it was a chore handling that much weight in that small area. I had it part way out of the door and I raised it up (about the length of the scratch ) and the foot on the frame was closer to the cab than I thought... I've got it out now and I'm gonna "devize" some way to keep the drawers secure. I've got mag latches on them but the drawers are heavy enough to overcome them. But, thinking again... once it's in and bolted down it won't be a problem, eh ?? My biggest hurdle now is paint. Jim was down to a thin layer in the bottom of the third gallon when he finished... I know I gotta buy another can... hopefully a quart. and that will probably be 300+...

all part of it, right ???

OH boy, I got a face like I had just sucked on an extra sour lemon when I saw your pic. What a drag. I'm sorry it happened but there's no turning back at this point right, gotta fix it. This getting older stuff seems to make what used to be an easy job a lot harder, I just had some parts delivered today and could barley carry the box into the garage LOL. Your almost there keep on keeping on.

OUCH!

I had a 79 F250 Supercab which I had just had repainted 2 tone blue and white. It looked great.
My friend borrowed the truck to move an aluminum canoe... which he placed in the bed with the tailgate closed so the canoe was upside down resting on top of the cab, protected by a couple of rags... until he turned a corner and his knots slipped. Peeled that new paint down to bare metal all across the top of the cab..

I'd be looking for security camera footage so that I'd know who's arm to chop off.

"The first cut is the deepest".

I can remember when I had my truck was in finished paint and got its first rock chip, then scratch, then the next one.

Someone remarked when I first finished my truck " take a good look at it, because that's as good as it will ever look."

Heartbreaking John, but fixable. Its only time and money, right? Ouch!

Another one of those one step forward, two steps back events in our world of restoration. I’m sure your stomach dropped when it occurred but thanks for sharing.
