Parking Brake Backing Plates Replacement

Parking Brake Backing Plates Replacement
Been having rear brake issues on the X. Got 147K on it. After removing rear hubs, I can see why. Back plates are mostly gone. Brake shoes were floating with the mounting pins gone. So I watched the you tube videos and realized back plates are going to be expensive. Is this a dealer only part? Looks like they are almost $500 each. Are there aftermarket back plates available? Also to remove the hub nut, is that tool available anywhere? Any info/help would be appreciated.

Not sure on pricing, but Christina made a how-to a few year back that should cover most of the steps.

I bought all of my parts from Amazon. Dorman 924-212 backing plates for my 05 Ex (with both calipers facing the rear), Bendix 771 parking brake set, Ford F81Z-2A637-AA, Parking Brake Lever, Timken 370247A Oil Bath Seal, Wagner H7226 Parking Brake Hardware and Powerbuilt 648476 Spindle Nut Socket...replaced last October everything working as it should. Did my main rear brakes as well at the time.

That's a coincidence.
I just posted the part numbers for that in my part thread yesterday.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I ordered the plates and tool from amazon. I have the brakes and hardware kits. I need to get the hub seals and I should be ready to go. I viewed two U tube videos to remove the old hardware, build the brake plates and install the brake assembly and hub. Thanks again.
