F350 SRW CC - Cargo Capacity #3063 & #3090

The Long Bed payload is about 250 lbs less than short bed
Turning Radius is 5 feet more with a long bed
I would be over gross on payload with a long bed towing my 337RLS
I went with the Andersen hitch initially because of the 200#s of weight savings over a conventional 5th wheel hitch. I love the hitch. I can take it out in less than 5 minutes and lift it out with one hand. It hangs on the garage wall when not in the truck bed.
This combination gives me more than enough turning angle. I never want to go over 45-50 degrees due to the stress on the trailer suspension. I can easily see the cap/cab clearance in the back window and/or rear view mirrors.
Here’s another view of max turn.

3000lbs in the bed the truck will be nicely level - definately drops the rear 2-3". We are running a slightly heavier trailer (16200lbs) and its a nicely handling machine with no truck modifications whatsoever between 6800-7000lbs RAW, about 25k combined. I laugh at the "you gotta have airbags" crowd. Run it within spec, and there is zero need for modification on a F-350.
Those 90deg turns are tough on the trailer suspension - I do them regularly as we move every several weeks, and so far have torn/ripped two spring shackles. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of.

Standard tandem leaf spring arrangement - no IS or MorRyde here. They do offer a HD shackle upgrade
- unfortunately last time I needed a repair I couldn't get it in time, so got to replace all my shackles with new....standard strength ones doh!

I was thinking that the Alfa would of had MorRyde LRE suspension systems under it for some reason. Even though you changed out the shackles already and there're probably still new its worth doing the upgrade night & day difference in the quality/ thickness and being able to grease them doesn't hurt either.

They where around it was on my '05' Cameo. But I know what you mean knowing what to look for everything is a trade off and having these boards help new comers that are putting their toe in the water.
Some are realizing the bones of the rig are more important than the bling. Pigs with lipstick don't look so well after sobering the next day.

So I’ve found a 2018 F350 very similar to yours. It has a CC of 3417. What is your opinion, any problems, safety issues...? The Anderson Ultimate is 35 pounds, the wife and I are 380 and if I use your 2800#, still puts me less than 3417. This particular vehicle doesn’t have the 5th wheel hitch prep, so an additional computation will be required.
Thanks,
Tony

My 2800#s pin weight is with lots of stuff loaded in the trailer pass through storage.
If you are buying a new Ford make sure you take advantage of the $3000 PCO.
