What's this bed worth

I bought a 49 Ford F1 stake body to flip. The truck has what I was told is a NOS stake body for the F1 trucks. I am going to keep the 49 and sell my 50 because it needs a full restoration and I don't have the time (has first child recently). I want to put the bed from the 50 on the 49 before I sell it. I want to know if the bed has a decent value and is worth selling by itself or if I should just put it on the 50 and get rid of it that way.

If it has the Ford script it will have some folks interested in it. The pictures shown tell us nothing. Location will influence value.

The bed is located in Bordentown NJ. I will pull the plastic off and take a photo of Ford written in script on the bed. It also has the fender pieces which extend down to the running boards.

If its really "NOS" then its definitely worth something ... and a serious collector type would spend a premium to get something that is in new condition.

I think I've seen used ones with the Ford script for $1,200 and up... if you have one in new condition, it would be worth double what a normal 50 year old used one in good shape would be worth...

that's my best guesstimate.

Good point. Do you really mean NOS or SAE? Also what is the length and width?

Let's get our terminology straight. The term "NOS" stands for New, Old Stock, which is describing brand new, OEM parts, never installed, that are old, no longer produced or obsolete, that were made at the time the vehicles in question were generally in service, and originally available for sale from the dealership as service parts. Often they are still in the original packaging. I would expect a NOS flatbed to be still in the factory crate, not installed on a vehicle. Having it installed would make it, by definition, no longer new and unused. What you have may or may not be an original, factory flatbed, we can't tell from those pictures since the identifying marks are pretty much covered up. So unless someone just took it out of a Ford crate and put in on the truck, it's probably not NOS. Just FYI.
