I got a friend going down to Oklahoma with me, but a ride in the van and an extra pair of hands would be nice. I have to rig up some tail lights on the truck, since the tail lights and mud flaps were on the bed when they removed it. I'll bring some tools, duct tape and bailing wire with me, in case stuff starts to fall off.

Good Morning Everybody! I have to see what the brake noise is coming from Tiff's truck. I can't see anything looking through the wheels, so I have to pull the wheels and take a good look.

Morning folks, spent yesterday with the grand kids and helped the son in law replace the bent rear diff cover on his Jeep. He now has one that is 1/4 thick steel...

Morning all. It just occurred to me that the parts swap meet is coming up the weekend after Nikki leaves for college so I'm probably going to have to make a solo run if I can't talk someone in to going with.

Afternoon Everyone!

I got the front brakes and rotors done on Tiff's truck. The sliders were stuck, the outer pads looked fine, but the inners were gone. I got it all freed up and working again. I'm just getting some lunch and I'll go tackle the tune up. ...wish me luck. Spark plugs in a 5.4L. ...yay me.

Is that from the years that they liked to break off in the head? If so, go easy into the battle my friend.

Dave. Yeah, none of them come out very easy. No matter the year. Especially with 170K on the clock. I'm pretty sure they're original, too.

Good luck. I understand those plugs are responsible for a whole new level of swearing.

last time i messed with a new ford engine, it took a hour to get the holes clean enough so the dirt wont fall into the engine. after hearing the horror stories i then soaked the plugs for a couple of days before i even tried to get them out...just by luck got all 8 out without incident...
