Dana 50 - 1999 F250 SD - Pulled the right side axle shaft. Inner seal came out with it. How bad of a problem is that?

From what I see on Youtube, this seal should not come out like this! Has anyone seen this happen before?

Looks like I'll be pulling the diff cover and guts to install new seals.

Looks like oil was seeping past it anyway.

 

Can't say I've seen one fail like that, on a D50 anyway.

Once you get the carrier pulled, I suggest wrapping it and shoving it in the freezer. Makes it a lot easier going back in.
