Body of the Bronco?

Has anyone have proof if the body of the new Bronco. Will be steel or aluminum? I personally can't wait to see and drive one. When the ranger comes on the lots. I'm test-driving one. Just to see how it handles. Since they are building on same chassis. As I understand.

Unless they are going to assemble the body elsewhere, it will definitely be steel. They are not tooling up Michigan assembly's body shop to handle aluminum bodies.

Given that it's going to be based on and built next to the Ranger, I'd be shocked if it is aluminum.

It isn't based on the Ranger, the Ranger and Bronco are both based on the T6 chassis. The Troller T4 and Everest are also based on the T6 chassis, and they share zero body work with the Ranger. (The Troller also has solid axles under the T6 chassis.) I expect the body work for the new retro styled Bronco to be unique to the Bronco -- and being lightweight is a big advantage offroad.

The body forms we've seen so far would indicate it will be an entirely different set of sheet metal than the Ranger:

The overhangs and position of the wheel well relative to the hood and angle of the hood tell me that the fenders and hood are different, the rake of the window tells me the roof and doors are different. Considering that its a truck and suv, not even the floor pan is the same. I would be very surprised if they share a single body panel, and future Rangers may very well be Al along with the F-series if it performs well enough to keep around long enough for a redesign (this Ranger is 8 years old already, in the rest of the world). Not to mention that the hood, fenders, and tailgate of the Ranger are already aluminum.
