I just completely built a 360 but I am starting to change my mind and go with a ford small block 302 or something like that. What could I get out of this engine if I tried to sell it? I know I wouldn't get all my money back. Block has been bore .060 new pistons. Same rods and crank. Block has been decked and balanced. New brass freeze plugs. Edelbrock top end kit. comes with cam, timing chain and sprocket, hydraulic lifters, aluminum heads (they are built), aluminum intake, roller rockers, 800 cfm carb, billet distributor, 8 mm plug wires, and headers, fly wheel, fuel pump, ARP push rods, valve covers, harmonic balancer.
I agree with the above.
Even buying a budget crate motor can often be problematic and at least there may be a warranty. Buying a home-built new motor is probably out of the question for most guys.
You might do better to put it in, get it running to check for leaks and tightness, then sell it after someone hears and drives it. Otherwise, part it out i
and sell it in boxes with receipts.,
Wow, after all that work and expense, I would definitely install the motor and use it. You may be completely satisfied after hearing your creation come to life
Yeah after talking it over with a few of my buddies I think I'm going to stick with it. They also talked me into going with a crown vic front end swap as well. So we will see how this turns out. Thanks for the replies. Will post pics of the build.
Fun thinking of speed building a hot motor get many guys all worked up throwing cash into the motor, then when we watch the price of gas go up.
Shell shock starts to set in thinking gees, I won't be able to use it any more as a daily driver with the gas price is so high.
Reality sites in thinking as gees maybe dump it all for a smaller cubic inch gas saver motor.
It sounds like it's way to late!
Small block motors different mounts an tranny an so on.
