Best shocks for the front?

Looking for what the best front shocks are to go with the heavy v10, my Napa ones suck.
Also looking into doing ball joints in the next week. Any one know anyone in the Vegas area that does ball joints?

Thanks again

I always used rancho RS9000's. They are adjustable so you can dial it in to whatever you want. I will say, however, that here on Long Island where they heavily salt the roads in the winter, that the paint does not last very long. If your in a different climate than I am, I would go that route.

I've been the NAPA route myself and they aren't the best with the Reflex being tbe worst. Because we pull heavy I'm sold on Monroe Gas Magnums, the empty ride suffers some but where it counts for us they work great loaded.

Bilsteins. Nothing better for a non/mild lift application. 4600 series if no lift, 5100 series if minor lift.

I run Bilstein 5100 on my V10. They are a little stiff for normal driving, but once you take it off road, they are fantastic. Its almost like it can sense they are on dirt because they are very good at absorbing wash outs and pot holes, and the faster you go, the smoother they get.

I just put Billstein 5100's all around on my 2010 F350. The truck seems much more planted.

I have some Bilstein 5100's on the front of my 99 CCSB 4x4. They work great. I did have to replace the top bushings with some Energy Suspension units. Original bushings went bad after the originals wallowed out.

I've had Bilsteins before. They seemed pretty good for a short time. Good luck with that Bilstein warranty. You will be in for a surprise.

I own a 2001 F250 Crew Cab 4x4 with an 8’ bed and V10 motor turning 4.3 gears. I just replaced my shocks for the second time...

I am the original owner and the truck has just over 160,000 miles. I put a set of Bilsteins on it at around 30,000 miles and they were a huge improvement over the stock gear. However after 130,000 miles, the Bilsteins had started to lose their ability to dampen the bounce.

Just this week I put a set of Fox shocks on the truck and they fixed the bounce issue again. Hopefully I get another 130,000 miles out of this set!

It still rides like a 3/4 ton 4x4 truck, but it is as smooth as it gets considering it has leaf springs on all four corners.

Cause which motor you have really matters? how about providing the basic info like which vehicle you have? F series? Econoline Van? Excursion? Hell I even saw a F550 with the V10...

Mike, rough night?

I was looking for what other truck owners with the same heavy front end did with their shocks, I don't see a problem targeting guys with the same truck/engine. I went with Bilsteins

Hope you have a better day brother
