Picked this little gem up at an auction

I doubt the air brake story too. I don’t know of any air brake conversions for the (relatively) small Super Duty axles.

For god sakes! Have you even looked at the thread?! He posted a picture of an air brake controller and canisters. As well as an air tank! International makes large trucks that carry the Ford name. We call them f650-750. They often come with a 5.9l and air brakes. A determined person could do a full conversion.

I haven't figured out yet if it is a cab swap or a Cummins and air brake swap. Or maybe it just has a F450 badge on it. lol I'm not sure if I want to do too much looking into it and work to it because I will fall in love with it and won't be able to sell it. lol All I'm planning on doing to it is get the right wheels and tires, fix the death wobble and get a couple of the gauges working. I should be able to make a few bucks off of it. My son and I painted the bed and running boards last night and I cleaned it up today.

Dude, you need to build this thing. It would be an awesome project truck. Wheels, tires, some flatbed modification, engine spruce up, etc. and make this into an awesome truck. Someone has already done most of the work for you with the cummins swap. Just make it better.

I was sitting here thinking and I may be wrong but... I think the bigger trucks have a complete straight frame. No bends for the cab. Cab and chassis f450 trucks have the bends for the cab but a straight frame. Listen I'm an extreme Ford fan but the 5.9 cummins is and incredible motor. Is it the the 12v or 24v?

Well this this doesn’t happen much but not only was I wrong but I’ll even admit it. I had no idea that international had any part in that I thought they were just made at a ford plant in Mexico prior to the move to Ohio. I’m surprised they would partner in manufacturing a truck that directly competed against the trucks they produced. I also had no idea they had any afilliation after the Diesel engine deal fell apart as that wasn’t a exactly a happy separation on either side. Here’s to you Warren thanks for the knowledge.

Eh it's no problem. I only know it because I worked at asplundh for a few years. When I started, they had huge fleets of 8.1 Gasser gmcs. By the end of my time with them, they had international and Fords. Both were powered by the 6.7l cummins. Dreadful motors early on. They kept going into limp mode. The Ford seats were kind of nice for basic seats. It was a weird split bench where the drivers seat was bucket and then a half bench for the rest. They reclined even!
