Hmmmm. I like lifts too, but have one question if anyone can answer. How do 8" lifts and big tires (say about 40") affect fuel economy. Also how do you program the speedo, odometer and MPG readout? Does anyone really care?
Hmmm...if you want to run 40" tires on an 8" lift......it might be possible to fit the 40" MT/R underneath a 8"Edge lift. The Reason I picked those two is that the 40" MT/R is only 13.5" wide I think and the 8" Edge will give you the most lift out of any of the 8" lifts and has a push on the center pin that will help in tire to fender clearance. I'm not saying for sure that that setup will work but it might. Unless of course you want to run cut-outs and a wider 39.5-40" tire that is 15-15.5" wide....that would work.
Superlift Truspeed module is what I used to reprogram my speedo and odo. and shift points......
Could be that the pics are too big. You used to be able to upload bigger pics.....then they changed it to only allow a certain size. I used to be able to upload a 1024x...pic, now I had to change the setting on my camera to take 640x480 pics.
I know that it's possible to resize pics.......but I have no idea how to do that .
yes i got the pics. thank you very much. thats the kind of look i am looking for and i finally figured out what i want.
i will go with the edge 8 in with the 5in spring in back
7100 dual fronts with single back
Kmc XD 355 with nitto grapplers 355 65/18
just need to find the best prices. i will do all my deal working
at the off road expo then purches after that. I cant wait.
also when I go for the install is it best to take off the front bumper.
peichai,
I have always taken off the front bumper, I don't think you can get to the front spring hanger bolts w/o a serious amount of trouble, unless the bumper is gone. Piece of cake though, four bolts in front, two support bracket bolts, and the little plastic rivets that hold the fog light harness to the bumper, have to get to those after knocking the bumper loose and pulling straight forward a couple inches.
try SuperDuty Headquarters in Arizona, KarTek In Corona, get some prices from them, so you have some ammunition for the offroad expo. Might see you there this weekend. You are talking the Fairplex, correct?
yes at the fairplex. Is there any other little tips. I am pretty mechanical but I know with everything there is always something.
Like with the bumper I probally would spent 30 min messing with the springs with the bumper on before I figured it would be easier with the bumper off.

LOL.
I haven't even looked at this thread until now. I get tired of all the and spamming that seems to follow any thread with the word "lift" in the title.

Welcome to FTE...
How big of a block do you have under the rear spring??
Easiest way is to go with a block that is 2" shorter...
3-7/8 block. I am having it lifted by a company called cap world. They did not recomend the shorter block. I called ford and they have 2" blocks for 100 dollars a pair.
What other solutions are there. I forgot how they said they were lowering it. Can you think of any other ways. My thought initially was to shorten the blocks. This whole thing is costing me arond 2,600 dollars.
