Son's 2001 F150 Lariat PITA
AC compressor removal was a nightmare. I have a really well-equipped shop with lift, 30 feet of Snap-On toolboxes full of quality tools, etc and was darn near stymied getting the old compressor out of the 4wd 5.4. Ohio salt had eaten out the clutch coil and etc. and the bolts were seized in the comp body. Bolt heads were corroded, wrenches skipped; the usual evil stuff. Got the 2 lower bolts out but the 3rd bolt (upper) was so close to the frame that any wrench/socket I have wouldn't go over the corroded bolt head including bolt removers etc. Ultimately (several hours later) I used an air-powered 1/2" wide 9" arm belt sander to sand off the bolt head working from inside the wheelwell, a crowbar to pry it away from the block, and a Milwaukee 12V pocket saw with carbide sawblade to cut the bolt off between the comp and the block. After all that the stub left in the block came out with only my fingertips! Classic example of "Rust Never Sleeps"....
