regen stopped at 70% ???

This is a '16 F350 King Ranch dually with 14,135 miles on it, has been absolutely trouble free. Driving down the road 2 days ago she went into regen, when it got down to 70% it just didn't go any further. I drove it an extra 15 miles but that was it. I called Ford service and the guy said .....just keep driving it till a check engine light comes on or something else pops up on the screen. Well that doesn't suit me too well so has anyone else had your truck do this? thanks, Dave

Did you stop for a extended red light? If you stop for a few minutes at a red light, it might stop the regen. Any other reasons you dropped below 4mph for extended period of time?

it is strange that you did not put it in park or shut it off.

I don't know of any other condition that would of canceled the regen.

Scan for any codes?

Yea I was stumped and so was the Ford dealer service guy. Going to take it in anyway Friday and have them take a look. The only other thing is that it ran out of DEF but it never flashed any codes on the info center. I don't drive it very far very often so DEF last a long time, thanks for the replys.

running out of def would have given you a message and a code, that code would go away after refilling. That would not prevent a regen to the best of my knowledge.

I posted a similar issue a few days ago. After turning on the display mine showed 90% and went into a regen a few miles later. I ran it on the highway and it also stopped the regen at 70%. I watched it until it got to 95% and put it on the interstate to do the regen. As soon as it went into regen I got the check engine light. and a P207F code. This time the regen went to 15%. Took it to the dealer and they had it a week until they re-programmed the pcm under TSB 18-2109. I've tried to research the TSB but haven't had any luck on it. Whatever it was my truck seems OK now.

What did you do with all the warnings it gave you?

As I said earlier Deuce.....it didn't show any warnings or anything on the info center. To Fefanatic, thanks for that info, I'll take that to the dealer tomorrow, maybe that will give them a headsup.

Just an update .....went to the dealer yesterday, he ran a quick scan which showed "no codes". He had no explanation as to why it stopped at 70%, said keep on driving it and if it goes into limp mode then we'll have some code to look at. I had to drive down to Saint George, Ut. to pick up my 455 Olds engine block from the machine shop ..... bout 70 miles round trip. Hit the highway and the truck went to 75% then just before I got down there she was showing 95%, I thought ok, it's doing something anyway. On the way back it finally showed full and went into regen until it hit 15%. I'll just have to wait and see if it does the same thing again. Also, the service guy said they could do a forced regen but that would cost ME! Is that normal for a 14,000 mile truck still under warranty?

The manual regen would have cost you as there was nothing to lead the tech that it needed to be done. It would not be billable to Ford to cover the tech's time.

If you don’t drive very far, very often, MAYBE you need to hook to a heavy load once in a while and warm her up good for a few miles......diesels love to be worked!!! I am kind of the same way, but I do pull a light load quite often, and then I hook to the Raptor and make it work several times a year. Not necessarily a long haul with it but at least enough to blow the cobwebs out. Right now at about 42,000 miles....10,000+ pulling the Raptor, about 8000 or so pulling a 38’ enclosed gooseneck, and 6000 or so pulling an 18’ tandem flat with my RZR on it. Never an issue yet.
