When I had my F150 with the Ecoboost, I got talked into buying a fifth wheel trailer which was, as it turns out, quite a bit larger than I should have got with the 1/2 ton F150. The only issue I had with the 7800# dry weighted 5'er was that you could definately tell the trailer was too big...BUT!, i had more than enough power to pull any hill I attempted (for those familiar with the Seattle, WA area, I'm talking Stevens Pass, Snoqualmie Pass as well as 410 hill going into Bonney lake) the downhill was always slower, and I'd rarely exceed 65 (even in a 70 zone), but being a commercial driver, I've got a bit more experience with heavy hauling & braking than most people. though I eventually upgraded to a SuperDuty for safety reasons, I was more than happy with the power of the ecoboost towing that 5'er

I"m honestly considering the ranger with the ecoboost...V6 power with V4 economy...use the SD for trips & the ranger for my daily commute
