Interchangeable Interior Trim Pieces 80-86 and 87-90s

What parts / trim pieces from late 80s to 90s Broncos are interchangeable with 80-86?

1. I have damaged canopy trim (the long runs that hide the bolts that secure the canopy). If the canopies are interchangeable (aren't they?), would the interior trim pieces from an 87-onwards model Bronco fit?

2. The heated tailgate has the switch to tun it on and the illumination harness but no harness to the back window. There is no harness connection from the rear drivers taillight that passes through to the tailgate. What are the part numbers for the harness(es) that control the heated tailgate? Any chance these too are interchangeable with newer vehicles? I bought the EVTM but the diagram only describes the wire colors and connectors and does not list the harnesses or parts needed for the system to work.

3. In the passenger foot well against the firewall, I can see the heater blower door; pushing on it (under tension) the door opens to show the heater blower (wheel).
Should there be a cover over this door to direct the heat through ducting? In winter I cannot feel the heat; now that its warm I was going to rip apart the heater core but this (missing?) blower door cover must have something to do with it. Right or wrong?

Never heard of a heated tailgate in 1980-86.

That HVAC vent looks to be just that - is opened when Max A/C is enabled and air is recirculated inside the cab instead of coming from the outside.

Canopy? What's that?

Heated tailgate means heated backlight, or heated rear window in the tailgate, or rear window defroster.

Canopy means removable fiberglass hardtop,

OK, Bronco-specific questions... I don't care if they get posted here, the Bronco is based on the F150 and shares several pieces with it. The biggest differences here are in the generations, 80-86 and 87+ are unique generations in several respects and many things aren't interchangeable.

If there aren't wires feeding the tailgate for the defroster, the window doesn't go up & down either, does it? There should be a bundle of wires entering the tailgate right near the driver's side hinge.
The wiring connectors changed in 1987+ and I don't think anything is plug-n-play with 80-86. The EVTM is a great help in diagnosing factory installations, not so much in finding factory replacement part numbers.

AFAIK the fiberglass canopies are interchangeable but I can't guarantee there won't be problems, e.g possible different mounting systems. YMMV.

The window does go up and down otherwise you would not be able to open the gate. And the tops from 80- 96 are interchangeable. This is why this should be posted in the Bronco forum. I do not care either for stuff that is common between the F series and Bronco but there is much that is not (as op posted) and the knowledge base on the Bronco Forum for this specific stuff is far greater so it should be posted there. It has been over 25 years since I owned mine and most of that specific Bronco knowledge I had I have long since forgot.

IT may be true he might get more help over there it may also help us when looking for parts for our trucks if they also fit the Bronco.
Just like the Bronco guys knowing they can look at our year trucks for the same.

So I would maybe ask the same question over there just to see and if any thing came of it maybe post back here what does swap.

I wasn’t aware there was a dedicated Bronco section. I thought all bullnose questions were asked/answered here, but point taken and good to know. I’ll ask there too.
