MAP reading in TorquePro and Forscan low. Tuning Q?

Is it possible for a person that writes tunes for a TS chip to put code in that lowers the MAP psi from actual reading in an attempt to fool the PCM to keep from cutting fuel?

I know that some tuners change when the engine light comes on due to over boost conditions which removes defueling. As for the TS chip, I don't know that.

Although, something like the OCR from RiffRaff will take care of that issue for you.

Thank you. I understand all of that. A OCR will not take care of this. The problem is that when the key is on the MAP sensor reads low by around 2psi on 3 different MAP sensors. 14.3 is what it should read for where I live but it only reads 12.3. EBP reads 14.3. Guess I'll have someone remove the chip to see if that is what is causing it. I still want to know if a person who writes tunes can do this? That way I'll know if it is the tune or if the chip is going bad.

I feel stupid that I didn't do this sooner and changed out sensors three times., I went out to the EX and switched through all of the tunes and the and watched what happened in Forscan and it is in the tuning. It is low in 3 of the 5 tunes and matches EBP in 2 tunes. WHy would a person that writes tunes do this?

Yes.

The tuning can be altered to change the PCMs interpretation of MAP voltage. It has been done a lot in the past. It's a quick and dirty way of lowering low boost smoke and overboost codes.

Thank you cleatus12r. My Ex smokes as it is and I was hoping to reduce smoke by fixing this. Maybe it is time for new tunes bc the ICP never really goes above 2100 psi except when cranking and PW goes above 3 all the time which might be another cause of black smoke.
