I'm still baffled on this one as well. Correct, very decent freon line pressures. New orifice. Condenser has high pressure freon cooled down to near ambient. So freon is in liquid state preceding orifice, it being expanded and flashed into a gas after. The dang AC should be cooling well enough to hang meat in the cab.
The only thing that strikes me as not normal is the relatively low temp, 110 def F, on the compressor high pressure line preceding the condenser. That line should be hot enough to make burn your fingers.
Looking forward to reading the conclusion of this story and perhaps learning a little more regarding troubleshooting AC systems.

I Kno since I added the freon in not sure I needed that the high side got hot like you described and I can hang meat in there at times (again blend door).

I asked in another place about the high side getting to 350/375 and they said my high cut off is like 435. That I would be fine and be happy as long as it's cold as hell. This is all in 98 degree weather.

Perhaps our systems require more pressure or the compressor is getting weak to the point it needs a higher pressure to work effectively.

I work in telemetry in industry and I'm shocked we can't get exact pressures via out ecm these days. We should need anything other than a PC to get these pressures.

Maybe in another few years the A/C will be in the 80's on a hot day.

I don't know why auto A/C is not colder in later model years.
My 2001 gets it below 40. Happy with that.

Until...

I had disconnected my battery and when .I reconnected it it was cold as hell. Down to 42 degrees with outside at 90.

I think it's the blend door actuator. It's as if the power down reset it. Today in traffic it was kinda warm so I cycled the blend **** for 10 seconds each way. When I killed the truck to get gas I restarted it and it was again. Cold as hell. Like it should .

Disconnect your battery for 10 minutes and reconnect and see if your AC works again.

I'm in the process of looking to see which one I need. I think mine being a single zone it's the actuator on top behide the radio
You added refridgerant to the HIGH side ? I don't think you're ever supposed to do that.

This is a first time for me with odd issue like this. I wish I knew the history of repairs previous to me owning the vehicle. My next step is to recover refrigerant yet again and make sure air can pass through the evaporator without restrictions. Let you know more after Friday, next payday. Life is busy and need to put this project off for a week.

No sir. Low side only. That statement should be "added freon. High side pressures.." I had to many periods

So appears the issue was with a clog in evaporator. Cold air now! After some hot days without much cooling I saw water dripping out for over an hour later. I found that evaporator had a frozen corner to it after an hour of running. (guessing clog was making a new orifice tube of sorts). Just wanted to follow up with results for you guys.

A long story short- all parts are new now except hoses and compressor. LOL
