Do i have the last '86 bronco off the line?

Since i'm the second owner of my rig it came with all kinds of the original build stuff(btw $19.5k OTD, it had all the options). I realize this isnt rare muscle car stuff but it is kinda interesting reading to me, especially since i have plans to keep it almost entirely stock

Digging thru my dealer paperwork i find it odd that my door jam has a build date of 9/86(the top has a similar date too) It was apparently special ordered on 7/7 and on 9/26/86 he took ownership. This kinda seems late for an '86 model especially considering '87 was a mild retooling.

Another thing that is weird is on the warranty paperwork, it says it had 11,875 miles on 9/26 when the warranty started, i can see that if it was a trade in, but it seems to have came straight from ford and was a special order.

On a different forum they suggested looking at the last digits of the vin, but they are B188xx, so i doubt they started with #1 at the start of the year since they made 60k broncos

The last 6 digits of the VIN are next to worthless, as this is the Numerical Sequence of Assembly for a specific year for ALL series' of trucks, Econolines, Bronco's, Bronco II's, Rangers and Aerostars!

The 10th digit of the VIN is a letter that decodes to the year. See pic below...

I was the one that made that suggestion. Good to know it encompasses all trucks, and not just each model.
