Hi all,
I took a look at my leaf springs amd I think the bushings are bad/worn out.
im trying to find out if it’s possible to put new bushings in or just replace the shackles

Thanks in advance

I just did the ones in my 47 one ton pickup. Got them (the bushings)from Chuck's Trucks in Conneticut . Some of my bushings were worn clear through and the shackles and mounts were oval in the steel. I drove a couple of wedges in there after the new bushings were in and greased. That will last the life of the truck since I'm 65 years old. Got any pictures of this truck? I love a tonner PU.

Thanks for the help. I’m thinking I’ll just replace the whole shackle assembly.

heres a picture. when I got her the previous owner had her sprayed with grey primer 15 years ago before storing her in his barn.

its taken quite a few hours to hand sand that primer off without taking the patena underneath. The box is all patched up just hasn’t been put back on.
Shes staying bone stock. 236 V8 Flathead 4 speed manual.

Very Nice! And a merc at that. I don't think I've ever seen running boards that nice on a tonner PU. Mine is mostly rebuilt now and like yours, the patched up bed is sitting on some blocks awaiting a little more spare time. What are those rear tires? Denmans? Tournels?

I fired up my tonner this morning because you and this thread inspired me to do so. I have been involved in getting the woodie project 'finished' but I have to admit I got sidetracked two days ago with my studebaker M15 clone project. I have been in a pressure cooker job situation for so long with my regular work, my beloved hobby stuff has suffered greatly......
