Door weatherstrip help please!
I have just been fitting my door weatherstripping from LMC and it seems like I’m doing something wrong.
when test fitting the rubber, I started closest to the door handle and the rubber molds to the doors contours. But when I go up and over the top and back down the other side the door contours to the right and the rubber to the left.
can anyone offer any any tips or advise?
thanks, Dan.
Fits perfect
Area where I am struggling.

Flhx06, yeah I checked the left and right rubber.
I have a few pics to show to see if I’m placing the rubber correctly.
The area where I’m having trouble you can see where the rubber has been spliced together.
i thought during manufacturing this could have been incorrectly spliced.
any input is appreciated!!!
I’d imagine this surface is where I apply the glue.
See above photo- this is the only way I can make the rubber fit. But see it’s twisted in the red circle.

I just finished installing some rubber I got from Soffseal and it had been spliced together wrong. I checked, double checked and triple checked to see if I was on the right door but there was no doubt. I had a deadline so I just cut it and flipped the pieces that were spliced wrong and after that the install went fine.

My stuff was from Dennis Carpenter and I had to call them to get help on my fitment / install. I also had my doors off which seemed to make it easier. I started by fitting the correct area at the inside (hinge side) corner and then working back around to the splice on the other side of the door.

I knew it.....
The bloody door rubber is incorrect. LMC sent me out another rubber and it was exactly the same. Meanwhile i received my Dennis Carpenter rubber and it a perfect fit, it also feels like softer and better quality rubber.
i wouldn’t advise buying any LMC door rubber. I did read forum posts from 5-10 years complaining about LMC door rubbers, seems like they havent refined the product or just have had a bad production run.

Glad you got it worked out Dennis. I wasn’t aware of LMC’s bad production run or I would have never been so insistent with my advice! Lol! Mine are Dennis Carpenter too. DC always advertises that they have a lot of the original Ford dies and molds. Must be the only ones. I plan on buying a tailgate from them too. I think that’s where Walston got his too.
