VIN # help
I've own a rolling chassis, 1 1/2 or 2 ton ?, when I got it 25 yrs ago it didn't have cab or title, no eng or tranny, just frame , front axle and 2 spd rear axle and 6 20" tires and wheels. I want to sell it for scrap, so I called the scrap yard and asked if I need a title, no just a vin #. So took a grinder with disk to top of frame right side over front axle and found nothing, then ground right side over the front axle and found, these numbers and letter are all upside down on frame.

D6TA-CGA could be the ID engineering number for the frame, if stamped on the right outer frame rail, just behind the bumper.
1961/80: VIN contains 11 digits (1973 F250 example: F25YRS20001).
1981 thru today, VIN contains 17 digits (1981 F150 example: 1FTEF15G9BKA12345).
