Shiny gold colored flakes between my catalytic converts?

I cut my pre cat of on drives side of 04 5.4 3v f150 bc it was discolored “it looks fine to me though bc light passes straight through” but there are what looks exactly like gold flakes between the front and back cat and have no idea what it could be. It’s not rust bc it’s shiny and gold colored. I know there is there is platinum palladium and rhodium in a car but I can’t imagine there is enough to makes this many flakes. These are stock cats. I’m curious for any explanation?
