Still possible to get Bilstein for a 78 F150
As the title says, I need some shocks for my 78 2wd F150 and I keep reading good things about Bilsteins. That said, I believe they are nla for our trucks, but I figured I’d ask if there was specific part numbers I should look for?
If not, would appreciate recommendations for a dd with primary highway driving.
Thanks in advance!

I wonder how much difference there would be in an '80 through '96 F150?
I'll have to find my newer book (or you can look online) to find out if they list one for a stock height truck, but in their older book the 2wd F150 with 2" lift in the rear would use a #24-185530 in the 5100 series shocks.
This particular one is 16.14" compressed and 26.16 extended, but it does not give the valving in this particular listing.
However, the folks at Bilstein tech have been very helpful with that stuff in the past.
I'm betting Shock Warehouse is probably more up on this stuff than I am. I just put a set on my '68 EB though and like them a lot.
We sell far more Bilstein shocks than we do Rancho 9000's, or our own brand, and 99% of the customers find them like Goldilocks. Just right...
Good luck. Let us know what you find out.

If I'm remembering correctly, I read Bilstein has the correct length/ travel shocks available, but you need to modify your mounts, they don't offer bolt in replacements anymore. Give their tech people a call, they've put shocks on thousands of these trucks over the years, they should be able to tell you what it takes.
