May I insist, but you have a VERY GOOD memory Glenn.

I like to know that every thing goes as planned.

That sounds like fun. Just don't ride a moped in Italy.

ha, When you spend two and a half months seeing ten countries you don't forget Jose. The farther south I got (Spain, Italy) the more crowds the bike drew. They only had mopeds and thought my bike was pretty cool. After crossing the border into Italy two soldiers with machine guns stopped us and was asking a bunch of questions. We didn't have any idea what they were saying and after a few minutes I adjusted my weight on the bike. This move exposed the '650cc' and they were delighted to know what size the bike was. They waved us on! Phewwww

Update: Dropped of the OX off this morning and after talking awhile I asked to see the crate motor. It was covered up with plastic, the motor painted black and didn't have injectors. They said Thur it will be done but when I talked to the guy doing the work he didn't think it would be done Thur. I said take your time, I want it done right. The boss man said it comes with break in oil and they will run it and change it. Then told me to change it again after 500-1000 miles. He also said to get the camper and take off. He has seen people who baby the motors have oil consumption etc. He himself builds a motor and takes it to the race track right away. I asked about anti-freeze and he puts in the extended long life stuff. I questioned that and asked if the right glue was used on the injector cups and he was turning away to answer the phone so I didn't catch the type of glue used by Jasper. He said he could put in the Fleet Charge if I wanted, think I'll call Jasper. Walked a 1 1/2 mile to the camper in the rain, sure could have used the bike. Nebraskan's are usually nice but no one offered a ride. Oh well, I'm a sweet guy but didn't melt, lol.

Glenn, if I didn't know you not sure I would of offered you a ride either. Assume you still have the white Santa Clause beard? Progress sounds good and looks like if you had to break down somewhere in the country you certainly found the right shop. What are the odds. Good luck and keep us informed on the progress.

I wonder where that shop was 4 years ago when I broke down in Omaha.... I was stranded there with what turned out to be a bad injector harness but didn't know anything about these things to fix it myself. Ended up bringing it to a sketchy used car lot and having their mechanic work on it.

I wouldn't offer me a ride either, I scare a lot of people . I was in Omaha and didn't want to go downtown without any campsites and get a used motor from a guy. I limped (forced) 25 miles west of here to this shop that a trucker told my wife about. Jury is still out on this shop but I have a good feeling so far. Jarrett that is also as bad as breaking down, the thought of someone is going to bend me over. Until this problem I've always managed to fix it myself.

I am just really floored that the shop did not offer a ride back...for Pete's sake when I ran the hotrod shop I always offered even if I knew it was not needed. That's just a common Courtesy.

They were all busy running around and I just left. Its OK, I didn't mind. I did not get the feeling I could stay in the shop anyway. My daughter and grandkids are coming out tomorrow and we are going to the city pool. We went a couple of weeks ago and they loved it because they have diving boards. I think a lot of pools are getting rid of diving boards because of liability or something. That little chit five year old went up the high board when we weren't looking and we all thought that we would have to go rescue him because he would be scared. He just walked off the end like it was only three feet to the water. lol

Glenn
When we had a machine shop here for over 15 years. We always put a motor in fired it up set the timing and checked for leaks made a few checks and loaded up and went to the track. Even motors we put in our pulling vehicles we never worried about break in miles. But some will have a different outlook on this but that's just what we did and never had any trouble. If its a good motor I wouldn't worry

Thats what I will be doing to mine when it goes back in. Working it hard, best way to break it in. My race car gets 20 minutes of break in at varying rpms between 2&3k, then drop the break in oil, put in new and run the crap out of it.
