Leaving My Truck Parked

I will have to leave my 2016 Powerstroke parked for 5 weeks. Will parasitic loads drain the batteries over that time or should I just disconnect them? I will not have access to electric for a trickle charger. Thanks for any suggestions and advice.

Shouldn’t be a problem at all. Even three months is fine.
If you are concerned, just disconnect the negative batt cable from both batteries.

I routinely leave mine for that long, no problems.

Mine will sit for a month without any issues. If I think it will be longer than that I'll put the intelligent battery minder on it. But if I didn't have access to 110v power I wouldn't worry about it for a couple months.

Not a problem. Mine often is parked for 4 weeks or longer. The batteries are 4 years old it still starts fine.

I've never used one, would you mind sharing the make and model of the minder you use?

This is the one I have: https://smartercharger.com/battery-c...lti%20US%204.3

I use the battery conditioner once a year on most of my batteries. I haven't used that feature on the F-350's batteries.

Man - those CTEK things are expensive. Do they make 1 that you can connect to both batteries? I use a battery tender on my '02 & '03 Thunderbirds and my Generac GP15000 generator. The battery in my '03 Thunderbird is the battery that came with the car.

Since the batteries are linked (in parallel) when you charge one battery, you charge both of them.
