Anyone own a new model Taurus

My father is considering a new 2018 Ford Taurus. Specifically, he his looking at a base model SE front wheel drive with the 3.5l. He is 75 and wants something smooth riding and easy to get in and out of.

I doubt that the car will see more that 7K a year in the time that he owns it. Does anyone have any feedback on the Taurus that I could share with him?

I keep hearing that there are too many blind spots but I've never driven one to verify.

As Tim said...many blind spots...you sit low in the car. In my opinion...not a very comfortable car. I've never owned on...but...sold more than a few in my days as a salesman.

Thanks for your feedback. His preference is a large sedan so that limits it to basically the Taurus or Chevy Impala in his price range. Both are going away soon so he is motivated to pick something up to replace his 2004 Dodge with 55K on it...lol

Blasphemy I know. Last year I rented an Impala for a bit of running around in New England. Comfy, drove well, roomy. Don't recall any blind spots. Plenty of oomph for what I was doing.

We also had a Charger V6 for a Seattle to Pasadena road trip. Enough room for 4, trunk ok, was still pulling nicely at 90 mph, lie-o-meter nudged 31 mpg on a longer stretch, overall 28ish. Downside: Can you really trust an FCA vehicle?

FWIW

I can clearly see why many of the PD's across the country are moving into the Explorer. Ford has many blunders to it's credit over the years and dumping the Crown Vic or at least not re-imagining it was one of their biggest IMHO.
