heated steering wheel retrofit!! Success!!

i am in the process of adding the heated steering wheel to my f-250 lariat value package. it look to be very possible just like the f-150 and the fusions by creating a overlay harness. i have the parts on order and downloaded the factory wiring manual. i should be able to enable it with forscan once i get the parts.

the parts i order are
DG9Z-14B561-A - HSWM
CU5Z-14A163-A - Retainer for HSWM - ordered 3
HC3Z-14A664-B - Clock Spring
EU2Z-14474-AA - Terminal BCM - ordered 1
WT-1001 - Terminal SCCM - need 2 (come in packs of 5 used 3 for paddle shifters on raptor steering wheel) received
HL3Z-3600-CA raptor steering wheel with heat - received
WPT-965 - Pigtail HSW received
WPT-955 - Pigtail HSWM received
WPT-977 - Pigtail OBD2 Test Connection received

I canít wait to see your installation and video for the paddle shifters. I manually shift all of the time while towing and it would be hard to find a worse place to put the current rocker switch. Paddle shifters would make it SO much easier (and safer, for that matter). I will search the thread again and watch for it.

Did you come up with a total cost for the conversion?

so far i'm in about $670 with the raptor steering wheel, the raptor steering wheel was $390 of that. the standard leather wrapped or king ranch steering wheel could be done for just under $500. i will post my google doc once i get every thing done.

Very good to know, thanks. The standard leather wrapped steering wheel appeals to me more than the other options. I thought my truck came with a leather wrapped steering wheel to begin with, though...

It does but there are different versions of steering wheel. The lariat value wheel doesn't have the heating elements and thermistor built in.

This is awesome stuff! I don't understand why they didn't offer the paddle shifter for our steering wheels if they offer a manual mode. It is pretty silly having to use the plus minus on the gear lever.
