Fire season is in full swing.

Took a nice drive with the TT to a high-country lake in Wyoming. Rivers are blown out so was looking for some relaxing fishing.
Tow was easy and a nice camp site was available.

Got real comfortable.

Then got smoked out. Fire was up to 12K acres and only 6-10 miles away. Time to head home when the smoke makes you feel like you have the flu. It's grown to 20K acres but thanks to some good rain is 88% contained today.

That explains why a nice site was available.

I’m watching the fires too. I’ve got a camping trip through Arizona, Utah, and southwest Colorado next week. It looks like Colorado is going to be the issue for me. It was Utah last year. The burn bans sap some of the fun of camping, but they are quite justified. Sorry your trip got cut short.

Two years ago there was a 45,000 acre fire about 40 miles southwest of there in Colorado. We need rain! And more rain! Some fires are good for the system, but I wish they were small.
