Estimated 5.4 manifold cost

I'm posting in the f150 forum bc I assume more people with the 5.4 are here. I got an 06 f250 5.4 with 117k on the clock, passenger exhaust manifold is junk, I just got a quote for $3400 to replace it. I'm calling bs and That they don't want to touch it. Right now I'm looking to replace with a factory manifold. does anyone have a rough estimate on the cost range for someone to replace it? If its too high ill just end up doing it myself

I assume your talking about the exhaust manifold.. A lot depends on the condition of the bolts holding the manifold on. Some people have had the bolts break or rot off. A lot of grinding and extra work to get the broken off studs / bolts out of the head after the manifold is removed... Some remove the fender well, even the fender for access to the bolts. Could be a 4 hour job, could be a 20 hour job... depends on what has failed / rotted off.

the threads on my studs are still easily visible and could be cleaned up with a wire wheel. I was just wondering what an average cost was to have a shop do it? Worse case I'll suck it up and do it

I believe I had about $50 into the project doing it myself. Get the Dorman replacement studs. Super duty should have more working room I believe.
