Chrome on wheels is toast. Now the wheels look to be a steel wheel with a chrome piece attached to the outside of the wheels I found these chrome skins that will snap into the steel wheels but the seller says they will not attach to the steel wheel that has the chrome outer piece on them. Has as anyone tried to remove the chrome outer piece from these wheels. Thinking they might just be attached with two faced tape or something else. Any help? Tks. so I have a truck I got and want to spruce up. Chrome on wheels is toast. Now the wheels look to be a steel wheel with a chrome piece attached to the outside of the wheels

I found these chrome skins that will snap into the steel wheels but the seller says they will not attach to the steel wheel that has the chrome outer piece on them.

Has as anyone tried to remove the chrome outer piece from these wheels. Thinking they might just be attached with two faced tape or something else. Any help? Tks. Truck is a 2004 XLT

pull one of the wheels and look at the backside... I have a 2010 EDGE with plastic/ chrome wheel covers.. they SNAP on with little teeth that go thru the holes of the rim... I would guess you can REMOVE the chrome trim, then use normal hub caps.

JMO but wheels for these trucks are for sale by the truckload here. 20s and 18s are available for about $1000 the set with brand new tires. 17" aluminums are a bit less, again lots with brand new tires. Steelies are $100-200 for the set, maybe more with new tires.
