Anybody have any info on the Diamond Eye 4 inch system? I like the sound clip but wonder about in cab drone. I did notice the driver said he was at 18,000 rpm LOL.

I didn't see where it said anything about what it's made out of.

A complete waste of money because no "stock" gas engine needs a 4 inch exhaust system nor can it use the increased flow. As a matter of fact, the performance of the engine might decrease.

I love the sound I hear on the older model clips, but no 2016-2018 clips exist that I have found. I want that deep rumble on my 5.0L, not the rappy backfire stuff. Online, they offer aluminized and 409 stainless. VERY reasonably priced, although no tip included. If I could just hear a 2015+ 5.0L, I'd probably pull the trigger. The other is Diamond Eye doesn't list a rezenator delete pipe for the kit(s).

For just a bolt up, I agree. Do the kit with a tune and intake, and offset the losses.

Yea, a 4 inch system is probably overkill on a stock truck. The MBRP 3 inch system doesn't sound too bad. I'm looking at aluminized steel because my truck isn't a day in day out driver. I'm looking at retirement possibly this year and won't have to drive everyday through the salt and grit.

I've run many MBRP kits and the last 2010 5.4L Cool Dual kit still sits in my loft. The current offering is just too subdued for me. Back then, I called and they sent me a louder muffler for $30. No longer an offering or I'd have the MBRP.

If it eliminates the resonator it will probably drone. I tried two different systems without a resonator and both droned from 1500-2000 RPM, right where you're sitting most of the time and on the highway.

Also I don't know what's different about the '15+ but they seem to be louder with the same exhaust system. I tried a muffler similar to one I'd seen on some '11-14 truck videos and mine seemed way louder, but then again videos usually don't reflect the actual volume very well. Going to try a system with a Flowmaster Super 50 and a resonator sometime in the next few weeks, not sure how it will be.

Also, I won't go with another aluminized anything. Had an aluminized system on my old Ranger and it got a ton of rust in just a year, although I did mostly drive it in winter.

Totally understandable but if you`re really looking for something to last for many years of driving through road salt and brine that is used on the roads, you should take a look at the Borla systems which have a Million mile warranty and are 100% stainless steel or 100% stainless steel systems from other brands such as MagnaFlow or StainlessWorks.

Yes, they cost more but you get what you pay for and they will last longer than the aluminized steel systems.

Have a great day.

Aluminized will also corrode from the inside. Especially if you only drive short trips, condensation builds up in the muffler and other low spots.

Good points for the stainless. I went with a Bassani stainless system on the Lightning because I never plan on getting rid of the truck. It is a garage queen but the exhaust is still nice. The Lightning has the equal length headers, off road mid pipe w/o cats and the cat back. It's the sound I think I'd like on the new truck. The MBRP systems probably come the closest at least in the videos. That's keeping in mind the video sound may not be exactly what to expect in person.
