429/C6 engine swap

Hi everyone I am in the process of swapping out the inline 6 with a 3 on the tree in my 2 wheel drive 1966 F250 and installing a 429 with a C6 trans out of a 1970 Mercury. Right now I am in the process of cleaning and replacing some parts. I have read in here that it's a pretty common swap but I have a few questions.

1. Can I use the stock motor mounts?
2. Can I use the stock trans mount?
3. What size radiator is recommended?
4. Will the V8 suspension springs be strong enough to handle the weight or go air bags? (As I wrote this question I think I might bag the whole truck)

This has been done many times and if you use the advanced search you will get back a bunch of stuff. My truck came with a 460/C6 but I removed it in favor of a 351C.
First you need the engine perches form a 70's truck that came with a 460.
The crossmember for the trans mount will work but you will most likely have to drill new holes in the frame.
The center crossmember is the big problem with a C6. You will have to remove the rivets and replace them with bolts so it can be removed to get the transmission in or out.
My truck just had the stock 352 size radiator the PO said it never got hot.
And you do realize that the compression on 1970 429's is 10.5 to 10.7-1 and it might not to be real happy with unleaded gas.

When I did the compression test it was pretty high but it's just gonna be a fun curse around and occasionally go to the track truck. Thanks for the info I will probably pick up the perches at Napa this week. Hopefully I start the install next weekend I will try and get as many pictures of the install and document any road bumps here.

I think you are confusing engine mounts with the perches. You will have to find a donor truck to get the perches from. Go to this page and scroll to the very bottom. http://www.fordification.com/tech/engine-perches.htm
Also
the cranking pressure you get from a compression gauge is not the same as compression ratio. You really need to do some advanced searches and read as much as you can before you start on it. Just removing the rivets from the center crossmember with the cab on could take an entire day.

First you need the engine perches (aka towers/stands/supports) from a 70's truck that came with a 460.
1973/79 F100/350 460. All are 2WD with C6.

D3TZ-6028-A Right & D3TZ-6029-A Left .. Engine Supports aka perches/towers/stands / Obsolete

D3TZ-6030-A Right & D3TZ-6031-A Left .. Brackets-Mount to the engine block, rubber insulators bolt to these then to the supports / Obsolete

2) D3TZ-6038-A .. Rubber Insulators, right/left same / Obsolete
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
D8TZ-6A023-C (replaced D3TZ-6A023-A) .. Engine Rear Support (some people call it a cross member) / Obsolete

1973/79 F100/250 460 Regular Cab; 1973/76 F100/250 360/390 2WD/C6 Regular Cab.

D3TZ-6068-A .. Rear Rubber Insulator / Obsolete

1973/76 F100/350 460 except F250/350 Crew Cab.

Thanks for the info but I am not seeing any kind of reproduction "perch" online and was wondering if anyone happened to have the measurements so I can fabricate them at work.

I've got a set - all 4 steel pieces - if you don't want to fab them...
