Headlight Bulb Upgrades

Thinking about using the Phillips Crystal Vision Ultra Bulbs as a replacement to get better lighting; any opinions? I don't really want to replace the whole housing.

How long have you had these on? I had led's on my jeep and went out after 6 months. I like this upgrade to my truck as well, just been hesitant to pull the trigger based on past experiences.

The H13 have been in service for 2 years, had them in my 99 and then moved me over when I picked up my 6.7

Which LEDs did you get? They have several options. Also, do we have CanBus for lightning or not?

Do these aftermarket lamps blind oncoming traffic when used in the existing housing?

Went to your site. It would be nice if your "Search by Vehicle" was up-to-date. Newest year is 2006? I dont happen to know off-hand which headlight bulbs I would need.

I am concerned about blinding other drivers by going to LEDs; if I do do you need the CanBus?

Still no opinions using the Philips Crystal Vision Ultras?

I tried the Lifetime LEDs a couple years ago and hated them. Sure, they were bright up close (which made them APPEAR to be brighter) but they couldn't throw a beam worth a damn and had a poor cutoff in my housings. Plus, they didn't generate enough heat to melt snow/ice off in the winter. I turned them in every direction possible and really wanted to like them due to the cost.
I ended up with Phillips X-treme Vision bulbs and have been satisfied so far. I prefer the 3400k temp over the 4000k temp. Especially in poor weather.

Mine have a nice cutoff in these housings, haven't been brighted yet, I did adjust them down to match pre change.

As for heat, yes there isn't much and melting snow doesn't happen. That is a problem once in a while.

Edit: double checked my order fog lights are 9145 extremes not H10

I have the Silver Lux LED's by Putco. They are about 100 times better than the stock bulbs. You have to clock them so that they shine forward correctly and do not blind oncoming traffic or the folks in front of you.

The brights aren't much of an improvement over the regular bulbs, but the regular bulbs are night and day difference from the stock ones. I've also got some Rigid LED lights on an auxiliary switch if I need to light some stuff up with no traffic around.

Thanks for that and the pictures. I need to do something. I have the same potential issue with LEDS. The high temp is -20F.... Lows are below -30F and I am currently in one of the warmest parts of the state.
