2013 3.5 Fwd explorer Jerks at lows speeds !!
Hello guys this my first time here so bare with me...
i have a 2013 explorer a just bought it has 181,000 miles, the truck jerks or hesitate a lot when accelerating at low speeds ( 20mph to 40mph aprox.)
spoke to a couple mechanics they all said change spark plugs and maybe ignition coils too, so i did new coils and Sparkplugs. I tested the coils for resistance and they were all between 0.7 to 0.9 omhs. Problem not fixed yet.
No engine light on so my obd2 i havent been able to get any codes out of it yet.
If i accelerate hard it doesn’t do it.
Any ideas?
thanks for your help.

There can be a number of issues that cause this, both electrical and mechanical. Not having driven your to feel it I am kind of guessing but here we go. Have you tried scanning for codes? Not all codes throw the engine light, you may need a higher level scanner to see them. The Explorer is a "drive by wire" system and you could possibly be having issues with the throttle position sensor or accelerator petal sensor. There could be problems with your fuel injectors or fuel filter (seems less likely as hard acceleration doesn't give you problems). This could also be caused by your CV joints/axels being worn or stcicking. If your Explorer is 4WD it runs primarily in front wheel drive in normal mode, during hard acceleration is transfers more power to the rear wheels. Try running in the different modes to see if you notice any difference. And last/ or first, you could disconnect the battery cable for about 30 min to give the system a reboot.
good luck and let us know what you find.
